Women: Wired to Invest

Summit View Wealth Management |

On December 6th, 2018, Summit View Wealth Management hosted an event “Women: Wired to Invest” at the Carnegie Museum of Art. This premise of the event was catered towards a common request received from some of our female clients who would like to feel more confident when speaking about their financial future and, specifically, investments.

“Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.” –Ayn Rand, Author

Women: Wired to Invest provided a forum for women to have this important conversation, to learn and discuss why they make great investors and, to also summarize actionable takeaways that will help them make a difference with their finances. The results will assist women in becoming more involved in their funds, namely investments.

At Summit View, one of our core principles is education. This event helped us educate women that, at some point in their lives, will be solely responsible for their finances. While the investment and finance industry is very male-dominated, studies show that the vast majority of women possess certain behavioral qualities that make them better investors than men, however, many women admit that they lack the confidence to take charge of that portion of their lives.

We hope that this forum provided the women in attendance the confidence they need to take a more robust stance in their family’s financial matters, get their financial affairs in order, and most importantly—empower them to ask for help in areas they need guidance. Further, Summit View puts extreme effort into encouraging a close advisor relationship that covers and brings confidence into decisions for financial planning, investment allocation strategies, estate planning, education planning, and tax coordination.

We have had such a positive response to this women-focused event that we will hold at least one women’s event every year so that we can continue to invite other women to join this vital conversation.
